After a couple of beers, Nick and Guy sit down to talk about the demo of the song that would later become one half of the Nameling/Idle Wave Summer Split, “.mov”. Guy breaks down his process with discovering home recording and the power of creating something on your phone. The duo discuss listening to splits records of their favorite artists in college and how the timing finally lined up to collaborate on one together just as they always dreamed. Inspiration can come in the strangest of places, whether it’s during a walk on a boardwalk or at a Pokemon festival in Montreal.
