Home 03:11
Home: Bad news I’m not going with Nick I don’t think that I will see you this afternoon bad news I’m not going to sleep unless I get everything done, eventually I don’t need you to worry I don’t need you to worry about who I am Congrats you got the job you can take care of me any night you want But the burden is that there was a space to fill Do I deserve this to occupy an empty bed to understand why everyone goes their own way everyone leaves eventually Bad news cancel all your plans for the afternoon it sucks that I wrote you off and I haven’t clean my room since you left it I won’t be the problem I won’t let you down tonight I want to read more I want to fill the fridge on my own I want to beat this game before you get home

Happy 03:50
Happy: Are we alone? I’m in my driveway on the phone pacing back and forth until you get home Are you still sad, I mean I hope that you’re not mad People change it’s sometimes for the best And when I need you the most Is when I’m not even close to happy So I will suffer and go Through all the motions until you’re happy now You’re not alone The feeling sucks, it comes and goes But nothing good or bad will last this long And it’s so nice to see you I’ve tried so hard to reach you After everything that we’ve been through After all that we’ve been through And when I need you the most Is when I’m not even close to happy So I will suffer and go Through all the motions until you’re happy now And when I need you the most Is when I’m not even close to happy So I will suffer and go Through every motion, until we’re happy Through all the motions until you’re happy now

Stay 02:19
Happy When you moved out were you angry, Or just trying to start something new without us. Would it help if, you forget me Since I can’t hold my tongue for very long. If nothing makes you stay what could I do Now we’re fine and I still see you but every time we meet up somethings weird And you smile in every picture But I know what goes on outside the camera If nothing makes you stay what could I do
4.
Diet 02:55
EXPLICIT WARNING Diet: I have been eating nothing but shit all week. Telling myself “it’s good to compete” But I can’t stop doing terrible things to my health My mental state is physically hell. But I don’t even think that it’s worth it to be starving and adjustable Like I don’t even need to be me anymore Take me away from your house I’ve been tempting myself to stay until dark Do I cut comfort out of my life, when you’re gone But I don’t buy any of that When I’ve spent my life inside the track But believing it now becomes fact When You’re gone
5.
Space 02:55
Space Space please, take me away from everything I’m dead weight when you’re talking to me this late. I know what I want The taste of you finally gone It’s disrupting my signals coming in super hot. Space please, take me away from everything I’m dead weight when you’re talking to me this late. You pulled all the words right out my mouth I’ve been everything but myself And it’s hell if it don’t work out You say it’s the only thing I think about...for now
6.
All Night 03:37
All Night I’m open late only for you Stop on by to end the fight Will i cave in for you? I will cave in for you Remember when you held me up high? To all your friends and family You used to make me feel alright But now they don’t speak to me My head is indifferent Your bed is open ended My house is locked from within And I’m up all night again (Brittany verse) Had to go out on my own Cuz nothing felt right anymore It’s weird to think I’ll be alone End up just missing you more Feelings just keep flooding by Of Memories both good and bad Never knew an ending like this Would stay up all night wishing I’d just cave in My head is indifferent Your bed is open ended My house is locked from within Up all night again
7.
My End 03:09
My End I went to your house to see what you're on about We had a falling out but I know that you're okay for now I went to do the things in my life that you've been holding me back from But it's true what they say about you and after you Everything Was so wrong On My End I went to your house, to stop you from hurting yourself You said I'm better now, but I got the vibe before I left Everything was so wrong On My End On My End On My End On My End On My End Everything was so wrong On My ... On My End On My End On My End On My End

Sex/Tape 03:39
Sex/Tape At 10:25 we make our moves, I head towards your room How fierce of me to slip right through the hall past 202. As I recall, every hour of that day you shot me looks And lines inviting me to the best of times, Cause your honest smile inspires mine. You think you’re acting cute Well darling here’s the truth I will hold my head up while I hold yours down. Open curtains and the moon Shine line upon my cue For every line I haven’t written yet Regarding you. I’ll let it slide; she’s in the room We’ll have our screen time soon How fierce of us to misconstrue this monumental evening. I recall, you pulled my tie and tongue, Your heartbeat raced my tired lungs. You pulled and push it came to shove Out the window’s not enough. You think you’re acting cute Well darling here’s the truth I will hold my head up while I hold yours down. Open curtains and the moon Shine line upon my cue For every line I haven’t written yet Regarding you. Let’s sink ‘till we hit the bottom I was once loving more than you You’re someone else’s problem. Sleep it off dear, Your harsh remarks won’t get you far It’s condescending, it’s never ending.

about

PARTY GUY (DELUXE)

This album features 4 SPECIAL bonus tracks that are only visible once purchased! These bonus tracks are exclusive to Bandcamp fans and cannot be purchased anywhere else.

Party Guy first dipped its toes in our ears with the emotionally transcendent single “Home” in February of 2020. With the release of “Home” hitting streaming services just one month shy from the world shutting down, Idle Wave celebrated their return with nothing but high hopes for what was to come. While the band intended on introducing their first LP to the world within the framework of their latest single and long-awaited return, the party was postponed. With the onset of new challenges, the album remained on hold, but Idle Wave remained diligent working on everything in their power to make the next release possible, no matter the state of the world. In early December of 2020 “Stay” was released; its melancholy tone and lyrical desperation served as a grim reminder to not only what that year left everyone mourning, but what no one wanted to remain the same. The irony and valence of this release went under the radar, but emphasized the uncertainty that the band was experiencing at the time. The year opened with “Home” and closed with “Stay”, but not before the band announced “Party Guy” on the 25th of December. Why “Party Guy” you ask? 2020 should be considered anything other than a party, and that’s exactly what the uncanny title serves. Front-man and lyricist Guy Battaglia took on the ironic title in light of his own birth name. Guy, as a guy himself, wrote Party Guy at a time where everything around him was changing drastically out of his control. Whether listeners decipher his lyrics as depictions of break-ups among lovers and friendships (or even with his old self), Party Guy’s vulnerability and honest confessions match the feelings of listeners across a wide range of relatable topics. With the release of the January 2021 single “My End”, Idle Wave proved that they could still embrace humiliation, but with livelier energy. Breaking away from the recent downhearted melodies, “My End” left behind any sonic reminder of despair far away in 2020. Proving themselves with versatility and creative ambition- Party Guy released on February 19th, 2021, almost exactly one year after the release of “Home”. With the rest of the album including the tracks “Happy”, “Diet”, “Space”, “Sex/Tape”, and “All Night” (featuring Skyeline), Party Guy continues to attract the attention of both new and old fans. While the album was written and recorded primarily in 2019, “Party Guy” encompasses a larger-than-life meaning to us now. In the aftermath of what the world saw in 2020, this album lyrically possesses a perspective that is both unbeknownst to and familiar with the time of its creation, exploitation, and hopeful adoration.
